Importance of Market Intelligence

Whether you’re starting a new online or offline business, market intelligence cannot be neglected. But, what exactly is market intelligence? It’s nothing special, nevertheless it’s really crucial.Market intelligence basically possesses the knowledge of what is currently going on in your niche market and the overall market in general. If you’re planning on entering this market with your new business products, you should know exactly how it functions and what could happen in the near future. Knowledge of what your competitors are doing as well as the upcoming marketing trends also falls into this category.Market Intelligence – CustomersIrrespective of what products or services you’re selling, it is really important that you understand the needs and demands of your customers. You should have an answer to the questions – ‘What is the customer looking for?’ as well as ‘What kind of modifications would my customers want to see in future products?’

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
The first step to success is finding answers to the above questions and implementing them into your marketing strategies. Therefore, you should invest in financial services by marketing analysts so as to know exactly what’s going on in your customer’s minds or in other words – Marketing intelligence.Understanding the marketIn this fast moving world, noting remains constant. Each and every day there are thousands of changes and improvements. This is the reason you should also know what’s going on in the market place. Are there any possibilities that the products you’re manufacturing will not make any sales at all, or will they go viral?Irrespective of the marketing trends, you could make a profit; but, this could be done only if you know what’s coming at you. Therefore, your marketing analysts need to be trained and possess extraordinary skill.Timing is another important aspect to look out forMarket intelligence also includes time. When are you going to release a new product into the market? Obviously, you would want to sell lots and make a huge profit – but, when is the best time to do so? Analysts study market trends over years and finally come up with the right solutions.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Let’s say you’re manufacturing Pre Lit Christmas Trees – Anyone in their right sense would transport them into stores beginning September rather than January, because that’s when people are looking to buy them. However, if you’re into mobile manufacturing there are people waiting to buy all through the year. Hence predicting when exactly to launch the product could be a challenging task. That’s the reason you should hire financial advisors and marketing analysts.

Programming in Daily Life

“The best method for accelerating a computer is the one that boosts it by 9.8 m / s ^ 2.”

Philosopher Nick Bostrom, director of the Future of Humanity Institute at Oxford University in his ‘Simulation Argument’ stated “Humanity is literally living in a computer simulation. Instead of having brains in vats that are fed by sensory inputs from a simulator, the brains themselves would also be part of the simulation. It would be one big computer program simulating everything, including human brains down to neurons and synapses. “(Kuhn, nd)

A few of the instances of Programming in daily life are listed below ..

Class and Object, the most important features of Object Oriented Programming, as we all know, plays a vital role. According to a programmer, Class is nothing but a blueprint of an Object and an Object is a real world entity that has inherent meaning with certain characteristics and behavior. In the same way, if we buy a mobile from mobile shop, we get the following in the box: Instruction Manual, Mobile, Charger, Headphone etc. In the above case, Mobile is a real world entity (ie Object) that has several purpose or characteristics and how to use it is provided by the Instruction Manual (ie Class).

Encapsulation is the wrapping up of data and functions into a single unit (ie Class). It also ensures data security. In the same way, the medicines that we take are also encapsulated. There is an outer coating / layer that surrounds a medicine tablet / capsule for several purposes. Firstly, it keeps all the medical compositions intact. Secondly, the external environment interference is prohibited that may change its composition. Thirdly, the effectivity of the medicine is also increased as it reaches the target area without any variation in its nature. Medical compositions can be referred to as data and functions while the external environment interference prohibition can be referred to as ensuring data security.

Polymorphism, which is nothing but condition of occurring in several different forms. When we are in a class room, we behave like a student. When we are in market, we behave like a customer and when we are at our home, we behave like a son or daughter. This is how in our daily life, we implement polymorphism. Single person, playing different roles at different times based on the circumstances.

Inheritance is when an object or class is based on another object or class, using the same implementation (inheriting from an object or class) specifying implementation to maintain the same behavior (realizing an interface; inheriting behavior). Whenever a child is born, he inherits or extends the genetic information from his parents like the child class inheriting from the parent class. Like in programming, parent class can not inherit from child class, in the same way, in daily life, parents after giving money to child, do not ask it back again in general cases.

Variable is a value that can change, depending on conditions or on information passed to the program as per programmer. Did we ever consider the fact that our emotions, needs, desire, expectations and many such related issues are also variables as they vary / change / alter depending on conditions either external or internal. For example, we become happy when something good happens to us while we become sad immediately once the situation is against us, this is nothing but treating mood as a variable whose value alters accordingly.

A constant is an identifier with an associated value which can not be altered by the program during normal execution is really a tough definition to remember for normal people like me. But we can consider the simple fact that our soul is constant. We never die. Our body is made up of two parts namely soul and gross body. Gross body is nothing but the outer covering (ie epidermis) which is variable while on the other hand, soul is purely constant. Soul traverses from one body to another remaining constant.

How can I say that our gross body is variable while on the other hand, soul is constant?

The answer to the above question is quite simple and logical. If we keep our eyes wide open, we can observe several categories of people like few residing in multi-storied building while few in slums. Why there is difference? Have you all ever thought of it? It’s due to the effect of Karma. The gross body, one will get is purely dependent on past life activities. Human form of life is very fortunate and special. Soul traverses from one body to another body until it’s true motive is fulfilled. There are various other ways of understanding this concept but it’s out of the realm of my concern.

There are several other interesting facts of programming that can be easily associated with our daily life but I would like to restrict myself till here. Hoping to write more such wonderful articles to keep up the zeal of ‘Technological Arena’.

Advantages to Computers in the Food & Beverage Industry

Computers have revolutionized the food and beverage industry as they have nearly every other industry. Computers have had positive, measurable effects on the front end and back end of hospitality operations. Computers systems have improved employee performance, and food and beverage quality and consistency. Within the food and beverage industry there is no longer a question of should technology be used, but rather a question of which technology to use? In the food and beverage business, computers are here to stay.

In the hospitality industry, customer service is an absolute critical factor for success. Computers are helping in this area in several ways. In many restaurants, the wait staff can process various forms of payment at guest tables, which allows guest to leave directly from their table without the need to stop at a centralized checkout station. This has removed long unsightly lines, which annoy customers, and disrupt the flow of traffic in food and beverage businesses. This service is made possible by either small hand held computers which handle credit card transactions using wireless technology, or via remote point of sale systems that interact with a central computer system. This improves the customers dining experience, which should be the goal of any food service business.

A key management concern of any food and beverage business is the profit margin. In this vital area of business, computers have also proven to be an indispensable tool. Computer systems help manage the entire food service process from ordering the ingredients needed to produce menu items, to forecasting the amount of items to prepare for each dining period based on historical patterns. This helps to reduce wasted food, which is very expensive and comes out of the businesses profit. It also helps in preparing menu items before hand, which reduces customer wait time. Computer can also forecast with high accuracy rates the volume of business to be expected which allows managers to properly staff their business. This is vital because having too much staff on hand can consume unnecessary amounts of payroll, and not having enough staff on hand will cause customer service problems.

Computers are also being used in very innovative ways by some food and beverage businesses. For instance, Darden Restaurants that owns and operates the Red lobster and Olive Garden chains uses computers to help choose new building sites. This computer system uses a software program called the Darden Site Analyzer. The software gathers critical information needed to select a site, such as demographics, distance to other restaurants and customer information specific to the Darden business model. The program then analyzes the site and provides a series of reports to help Darden make the final decision. Darden plans to improve the software so that it can evaluate things such as whether a new Darden restaurant will negatively effect other Darden restaurants in the same area.

Computer systems have become a vital part of all aspects of the food and beverage industry, they help with purchasing decisions, inventory control, employee scheduling and training, and customer acquisition and retention. A leading indicator of this growing trend is the fact that many hospitality training programs now include computer and technology courses in the curriculum.

Each year innovators are creating more unique ways that technology can be used to enhance the overall commercial dining experience. Computers make out of home dining a more enjoyable experience for the consumer and a more profitable manageable experience for business managers and owners.

Nature and Scope of Economics

Many writers of the early days defined economics as "a science of wealth". Adam Smith commonly know as the father of modern economics, defined economics as "An enquiry into the nature and causes of wealth of nations."

These definitions were defective because they gave much importance to wealth. As wealth is not everything, it only leads to achieve welfare of human. Therefore it is man an which is the aim all of the economic activities.

Professor Dr. Alfred Marshall was the first economist who gave a logical definition of economics. He defined economics as: "A study of mankind in ordinary business of life, it examine that part of individual and social actions which is closely related with attainment and use of material requisites"

This definition gave a new direction to the study of economics. Following are the important characteristics of definition.

1. A Social Science

This Definition makes economics a social science. It is a subject that is concerned with the people living in society. According to Marshall, as the behavior of human beings is not same all the time therefore principles of economics can not be formulated like the laws of sciences. Further laws of economics are not as exact as the laws of natural sciences. For this reason it is a social science.

2. Study Of Man

Economics is related to man; therefore it is living subject. It discusses economic problems and behavior of man. According to Marshall it studies the behavior of man In ordinary business of life.

3. Wealth As A Means Of Material Well Being

According to Marshall, wealth is not the ultimate objective of human activities and therefore we do not study wealth, for the sake of wealth. Therefore according to this definition we study wealth as a source of attainment of material welfare.

4. Economics And Welfare

This definition makes economics a welfare oriented subject. We are concerned only with those economic activities which do not promote material welfare of human beings are out of the scope of economics.

5. Materiality

Marshal stresses upon the concept of "material requisite of well being". Therefore according to this definition all economic activities resolve around the acquisition and use of material goods like food, clothing etc. because they increase welfare of human beings. On the other hand non-material requisites of human life like education, recreation are ignored.

6. Normative Outlook

According to this definition economics should take care of good and bad aspects of economic activities and therefore involve itself in "what should be and what should not be". This is called normative aspect of economics.

"Robbins and other many economists severely criticized this definition on following grounds."

1. Limited To Material Welfare

This definition limits the subject of economics to material welfare of people. But the subject of economics is not limited to the study of material welfare of human beings. In reality both material and non material aspects of wellbeing are studies in economics.

2. Vague Concept of Welfare

The concept of welfare used in this definition is also not clear. The welfare of human beings is not limited to the attainment of material requisites. There are many other factors which affect the human welfare. Further the word "welfare" has different meaning for different persons and different societies. Therefore we can not define economics using an unclear concept of welfare.

3. Limited Scope

This definition has made the scope of economics limited. Only those activities are studied in economics which are aimed at the attainment of material requisites of well being. Further it ignores the economic activities of a person not living in society. Attainment of non material requisites of human well being fall out of the scope of economics. This division of material and non material aspects of human welfare is not correct.

4. Economics And Welfare

According to Robbins the study of economic activities on the basis of welfare is not good. It is not the duty of an economist to pass verdict that what is conducive to welfare and what is not. Thus according to Robbins "Whatever Economics is concerned with, it is not concerned with causes of material welfare as such.

5. Moral Judgment

In this definition Marshall makes economics a subject which considers the right and wrong aspect of economic activities. According to Robbins economics in neutral as regards ends and it is not the function of an economist to pass moral judgments and say what is good and what is bad.

6. Unrealistic

This definition appears to be unrealistic as we analyze it critically. The unclear concept of welfare, the division of ends into material and non material, the stress on good and bad, the concept of man living in society etc. all these concepts put unnecessary restrictions and make the scope of economics limited. These ideas make the definition unrealistic.

Although this definition gave a new direction to the subject of economics but it had many weaknesses. Some of the faults of definition are discussed above. For these reasons this definition was replaced by other new definitions of economics.

Forensic Pathology Vs Forensic Anthropology

Pathology, compared to forensic pathology, refers to a specialized field of medicine that is focused on the study of diseases. This is a method of studying conducted through an autopsy. By adding the word forensics to its name, the whole concept changes and you basically have that branch of pathology that determines the cause of death of a corpse through an autopsy that is made at the request of a medical examiner or coroner. That is forensic pathology.

There are many roles that forensics pathologists have. These include determining the cause of death, identifying the presence or absence of disease using tissue samples, forensic examination of the body, collaborative collection of evidence such as blood and hair samples and then passed on to toxicologists for analysis, acting as an expert witness in court cases, examining post mortem injuries and wounds, and collaborate investigations with forensic odontologists and physical anthropologists for body identification. All of these are performed in a painstaking and meticulous manner with zero percent error. Overall, the major component of forensic pathology is in the conduct of making autopsy examinations to both the internal and external organs in order to discover the cause of death. Tissue samples are taken from the bodies and studied under a microscope to establish the underlying pathological basis for the death.

One of the fields of specialized study that closely works with forensic pathology is forensic anthropology. Contrary to the former, forensic anthropology is the process of investigating what takes place with human remains that have been decomposed beyond recognition or scrapped of any remaining DNA.

Forensic anthropologists differ from forensic pathologist in that the latter is someone who focuses on the soft tissues of the body remains in order to conduct autopsies and determine cause of death. For this field, cause of death should be accurate as to whether it was because of suicide, by accident, of natural causes and the like. Although regular medical doctors can conduct these autopsies, a forensic pathologist has more training and experience in pathological issues and have specialized training in the field of forensic pathology.

Undergraduate courses in the field of forensic pathology already cover the whole range of anthropology in general with a few linguistic courses added. Masters and PhD programs are supplemented with more work and research. The postgraduate education for the application and techniques that are used in forensic pathology can already be obtained at the PhD level or while studying the Masters Degree.

L’Oreal Professional Majiblond Hair Color

Neutra B technology facilitates in neutralizing cool shades and ensuring a cleaner and lighter appearance to hair. High Tenacity (HT) Technology delivers long-lasting luminous results (903S only). L'Oreal patented core to surface technology assures long-lasting color and ultra radiant hair. Majiblond provides up to 30% of grey coverage. It is developed using ingredients Ionène G and Incell Complex that penetrate the hair up to 3 levels. The 11 shades in the Majiblond Ultra range from ash, pearl and beige tones. The shades include the shining simplicity of Light Natural Blonde, the cool chic of Light Pearl Ash Blonde and the simple, natural look of Ultra Light Natural Golden Blonde. It gives up to 4½ levels of clean lightening and can be used for global application or for highlighting and special effects.

How to use Majiblond?

1. Choose the right color

At the beginning you need to identify the shade you desire for your hair. Shades are identified by the numbers given to them. This means that for the darkest hair with black color the number would be – 1, 2 – for very dark brown, 3 – for dark brown, 4 – for brown, 5 – light brown, 6 – dark blonde, 7 – blonde, 8 – light blonde, 9 – very light blonde and finally 10 – for ultra or extra light blonde.Once you have identified your natural hair color, you will then need to select the shade of color you prefer. Make sure you choose a shade that complements your natural hair color. Majiblonde's shades are in the 9 range and depending on the strength of hydrogen peroxide you use, the final shade is obtained. Generally, the strength of peroxide used for it would be 12% 40 vol. Note that a higher strength peroxide will not cover grey. Hence if you need a shade of base 7, you will have to use 9% 30 volume and a 3% 10 volume is used to darken or change tone.

2. Mixing

The mixing ratio is 1: 2. You can mix 50ml or 1 tube of Majiblond Ultra with 100ml of L'Oréal Professional Cream Oxidant 30 volume or 40 volume for lightening up to 4 ½ levels. To obtain a light base you must use L'Oréal Professional Cream Oxidant 30 volume.

The method of application would be applying the color to your roots first, then covering the mid lengths and ends. Allow a development time for 50 minutes. Hair colors can cause an allergic reaction. Make sure that you follow the safety instructions on the leaflet.

3. Washing

After the development time, emulsify carefully. Make sure you rinse hair with water such that the color runs out completely. Apply a deep conditioner to protect your colored hair.

Genetic Phenylketonuria

Phenylketonuria presents one of the most dramatic examples of how the relationship between genotype and phenotype can depend on environmental variables. Phenylketonuria was very first recognized as an inherited cause of mental retardation in 1934, and systematic attempts to deal with the situation were initiated within the 1950s.

The term "phenylketonuria" denotes increased amounts of urinary phenylpyruvate and phenylacetate, which occur when circulating phenylalanine amounts, usually in between 0.06 and mmol / L, rise above one.a couple of mmol / L. Therefore, the primary defect in phenylketonuria is hyperphenylalaninemia, which by itself has a number of distinct genetic causes. The pathophysiology of phenylketonuria illustrates a number of essential principles in human genetics.

Hyperphenylalaninemia by itself is caused by substrate accumulation, which happens when a regular intermediary metabolite fails to become eliminated correctly and its concentrations turn out to be increased to levels that are toxic. As described later on, one of the most common trigger of hyperphenylalaninemia is deficiency of the enzyme phenylalanine hydroxylase, which catalyzes the conversion of phenylalanine to tyrosine.

People with mutations in phenylalanine hydroxylase generally do not endure from your absence of tyrosine simply because this amino acid could be supplied to the body by mechanisms which are independent of phenylalanine hydroxylase. In other types of phenylketonuria, nevertheless, extra disease manifestations happen like a result of end-product deficiency, which occurs when the downstream product of the specific enzyme is required for a key physiologic procedure.

A discussion of phenylketonuria also helps to illustrate the rationale for, and application of, population-based screening applications for genetic disease. More than 10 million newborn infants per year are tested for phenylketonuria, and also the focus today in treatment has shifted in several respects. Very first, "successful" remedy of phenylketonuria by dietary restriction of phenylalanine is, in basic, accompanied by subtle neuropsychologic defects that happen to be acknowledged only in the last decade.

Therefore, existing investigations concentrate on alternative treatment methods such as somatic gene therapy as nicely as on the social and psychologic elements that affect compliance with dietary management. Second, a generation of females handled for phenylketonuria are now bearing kids, and the phenomenon of maternal phenylketonuria has been recognized by which in utero exposure to maternal hyperphenylalaninemia outcomes in congenital abnormalities regardless of fetal genotype.

The quantity of pregnancies at danger has risen in proportion towards the profitable treatment of phenylketonuria and represents a challenge to public wellness officials, physicians, and geneticists in the future. The incidence of hyperphenylalaninemia varies among various populations. In African Americans, it is about 1: 50,000; in Yemenite Jews, about 1: 5000; and in most Northern European populations, about 1: 10,000.

Postnatal growth retardation, moderate to severe mental retardation, recurrent seizures, hypopigmentation, and eczematous skin rashes constitute the main phenotypic features of untreated phenylketonuria. However, using the advent of widespread newborn screening applications for hyperphenylalaninemia, the major phenotypic manifestations of phenylketonuria these days occur when remedy is partial or when it's terminated prematurely throughout late childhood or adolescence.

In these cases, there's generally a slight but significant decline in IQ, an array of particular overall performance and perceptual defects, and an increased frequency of learning and behavioral problems. New child screening for phenylketonuria is carried out on the little amount of dried blood obtained at 24-72 hours of age.

From your initial screen, there is about a 1% incidence of positive or indeterminate test outcomes, and aa lot more quantitative measurement of plasma phenylalanine is then performed prior to a couple of weeks of age. In neonates who undergo a 2nd round of testing, the diagnosis of phenylketonuria is ultimately confirmed in about 1%, providing an estimated phenylketonuria prevalence of one: 10,000, even though there is great geographic and ethnic variation (see prior discussion).

The false-negative rate of phenylketonuria newborn screening applications is around one: 70; phenylketonuria in these unfortunate people is generally not detected until developmental delay and seizures throughout infancy or early childhood prompt a systematic evaluation for an inborn error of metabolism.

Infants in whom a diagnosis of phenylketonuria is confirmed are generally placed on a dietary regimen by which a semisynthetic formula low in phenylalanine could be combined with regular breast feeding. This regimen is adjusted empirically to maintain a plasma phenylalanine concentration at or beneath 1 mmol / L, which can be nevertheless several times greater than regular but similar to levels observed in so-called benign hyperphenylalaninemia, a biochemical diagnosis which can be not associated with phenylketonuria and has no clinical consequences.

Phenylalanine is definitely an essential amino acid, and even people with phenylketonuria should consume little amounts to prevent protein starvation plus a catabolic state. Most kids need 25-50 mg / kg / d of phenylalanine, and these needs are met by combining organic foods with commercial products created for phenylketonuria treatment.

When nutritional treatment applications were very first implemented, it was hoped that the risk of neurologic damage from your hyperphenylalaninemia of phenylketonuria would have a restricted window and that treatment could be stopped after childhood. However, it now seems that even mild hyperphenylalaninemia in adults (> one.a couple of mmol / L) is associated with neuropsychologic and cognitive deficits; therefore, nutritional remedy of phenylketonuria should most likely be continued indefinitely.

As an increasing quantity of handled females with phenylketonuria reach childbearing age, a new problem-fetal hyperphenylalaninemia by way of intrauterine exposure-has turn out to be apparent. New child infants in this kind of cases exhibit microcephaly and growth retardation of prenatal onset, congenital heart disease, and extreme developmental delay irrespective from the fetal genotype.

Rigorous control of maternal phenylalanine concentrations from before conception until birth reduces the incidence of fetal abnormalities in maternal phenylketonuria, however the level of plasma phenylalanine that is "safe" for a developing fetus is 0.12-0.36 mmol / L-significantly lower than what is regarded acceptable for phenylketonuria-affected children or adults on phenylalanine-restricted diets.

The regular metabolic fate of free of charge phenylalanine is incorporation into protein or hydroxylation by phenylalanine hydroxylase to type tyrosine. Because tyrosine, but not phenylalanine, can be metabolized to create fumarate and acetoacetate, hydroxylation of phenylalanine can be viewed both like a signifies of producing tyrosine a nonessential amino acid and as a mechanism for offering energy by way of gluconeogenesis during states of protein starvation.

In individuals with mutations in phenylalanine hydroxylase, tyrosine becomes an important amino acid. Nevertheless, the clinical manifestations from the disease are caused not by absence of tyrosine (most people get enough tyrosine within the diet in any situation) but by accumulation of phenylalanine.

Transamination of phenylalanine to form phenylpyruvate usually does not happen unless circulating concentrations exceed one.a couple of mmol / L, however the pathogenesis of CNS abnormalities in phenylketonuria is related more to phenylalanine by itself than to its metabolites.

In addition to a direct effect of elevated phenylalanine levels on power production, protein synthesis, and neurotransmitter homeostasis within the developing brain, phenylalanine can also inhibit the transport of neutral amino acids across the blood-brain barrier, leading to a selective amino acid deficiency in the cerebrospinal fluid.

Therefore, the neurologic manifestations of phenylketonuria are felt to become due to a basic effect of substrate accumulation on cerebral metabolism. The pathophysiology of the eczema seen in untreated or partially treated phenylketonuria is not nicely understood, but eczema is really a common function of other inborn errors of metabolism by which plasma concentrations of branched-chain amino acids are elevated.

Hypopigmentation in phenylketonuria is most likely caused by an inhibitory effect of excess phenylalanine about the production of dopaquinone in melanocytes, which can be the rate-limiting step in melanin synthesis. Approximately 90% of infants with persistent hyperphenylalaninemia detected by new child screening have standard phenylketonuria brought on by a defect in phenylalanine hydroxylase (see later on discussion).

From the remainder, most have benign hyperphenylalaninemia, by which circulating levels of phenylalanine are in between 0.1 mmol / L and one mmol / L. Nevertheless, around 1% of infants with persistent hyperphenylalaninemia have defects in the metabolic process of tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4), which is a stoichiometric cofactor for the hydroxylation reaction.

Unfortunately, BH4 is required not just for phenylalanine hydroxylase but also for tyrosine hydroxylase and tryptophan hydroxylase. The items of these latter two enzymes are catecholaminergic and serotonergic neurotransmitters; thus, people with defects in BH4 metabolism endure not just from phenylketonuria (substrate accumulation) but additionally from absence of essential neurotransmitters (end-product deficiency).

Impacted individuals develop a severe neurologic disorder in early childhood manifested by hypotonia, inactivity, and developmental regression and are handled not only with nutritional restriction of phenylalanine but also with nutritional supplementation with BH4, dopa, and 5-hydroxytryptophan.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Mainframe Computing

Mainframe computers perform complex and critical computing in large corporations and governments across the world. Mainframe machines are fast, smart, and capable of the advanced computing necessary to our generation of corporate IT infrastructure and business goals.

The emergence of newer computing technology has not killed demand for mainframes, as they offer unique benefits that make them one of the most reliable business computing solutions.

Let us look at the features that make mainframes a preferred computing platform, and also a few of their drawbacks.

Advantages of mainframe computing

High-level computing: One of the main characteristics of mainframe computers is their ability to process data and run applications at high speeds. Business computing requires high-speed input / output (I / O), more than raw computing speed. Mainframes effectively deliver it. Further, as business computing also demands wide bandwidth connections, mainframe design balances I / O performance and bandwidth.

Increased processing power: Mainframe computers are supported by large numbers of high-power processors. Moreover, unlike other computers, mainframes delegate I / O to hundreds of processors, thus confining the main processor to application processing only. This feature is unique to mainframes and makes them superior in processing.

Virtualization: A mainframe system can be divided into logical partitions (LPARs, also known as virtual machines). Each LPAR can run a server. Thus a single mainframe machine can do the work of a "server farm" that employs scores of servers built on some other platform. As all these virtual machines run on a single processor in a single box, mainframes effectively eliminate the need for a lot of other hardware.

Reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS): The RAS characteristics of a computer have often been some of the most important factors in data processing. Mainframe computers exhibit effective RAS characteristics in both hardware and software.

Mainframe systems are reliable because they can detect, report, and self-recover from system problems. Furthermore, they can recover without disturbing the entire working system, thus keeping most applications available.

The serviceability of mainframes means they make it relatively easy to detect and diagnose problems, making it easy to fix problems in a short time and with little downtime.

• Security: As mainframes are designed specifically for large organizations where the confidentiality of data is critical, mainframe computers have extensive capabilities for securely storing and protecting data. They provide secure systems for large numbers of applications all accessing confidential data. Mainframe security often integrates multiple security and monitoring services: user authentication, auditing, access control, and firewalls.

• High-end scalability: The scalability of a computing platform is its ability to perform even as processors, memory, and storage are added. Mainframe computers are known for their scalability in both hardware and software. They easily run multiple tasks of varying complexity.

• Continuing compatibility: Continuing compatibility is one of the popular characteristics of mainframe computers. They support applications of varying ages. Mainframe computers have been upgraded many times, and continue to work with many combinations of old, new, and emerging software.

• Long lasting performance: Mainframe computers are known for their long-lasting performance. Once installed, mainframe systems work for years and years without any major issues or downtime.

Disadvantages of mainframe computing
One of the prominent drawbacks of mainframes is their cost. Hardware and software for mainframes are clearly expensive. However, compared to the cost of other routes to security, IT management, virtualization, etc., the cost of mainframes is significantly less.

Secondly, mainframe hardware occupies more space than other computers. That large space might be a constraint for small establishments. But that problem is not so severe as it once was. Compared to earlier machines, today's mainframes are small.

Finally, one needs high-end skills to work with mainframe computers. You can not operate a mainframe environment without specific training. However, as one skilled administrator can serve a large group of mainframe users, using mainframes significantly reduces people-costs and thus offers a significant staffing advantage.

Critique of Lynne McTaggart’s Book: “THE FIELD”

An investigative reporter and admittedly without scientific expertise, the author explores scarcely charted territories comprising The Field. Alternately preferring her study as the Zero Point Field, Lynne explores advanced communications theory, partially confirmed in private interviews, papers, journals, and books emanating from the foremost philosophers, psychologists, inventors, and physicists investigating atom propensity, wave mechanics, light particularity, paranormal communication, and parapsychology as it relates to telepathy and psychokinetics and as the whole relates to quantum mechanics.

To furnish background for this 250 page investigative adventure, McTaggart brings theory to date with over 350 bibliographic references. In prologue, she suggests: the basis of quantum physics must arise 'in the Zero Point Field – posited as the most fundamental nature of matter – as the very underpinning of our universe, as packets of quantum energy constantly exchanging information in an inexhaustible energy sea . '

'Exchanging information' is important to the author's narrative, advancing the possibility of universal communication from particle waves intelligence, omnisciently resident in a cavernous Zero Point Field, not easily located but everywhere existent. Ascribing matter to its most fundamental level, as indistinct, indescribable, indivisible, and indestructible energy particles, she describes an individual electron with power to influence another quantum particle, over any distance, without any show of energy or force, and commensurate with a complex and independent relationship web, forever indivisible. In other words, she perceives life existence in a universal quantum field's basic substructure, with intelligent design, and inhering indestructibility according to the law of physics-subject to and contributing to the intelligence field.

We might suggest: science deserves much credit for its physics industry; yet, scientific expertise and investigative reporters often wear blinder-equipped bridles, where viewpoint opens on a narrow track, on a familiar ground so often traveled, being safely driven in the narrow-abstract, and sometimes oblivious to definite and more logical rationalizations. Thus, immersed in extractions from the speculative sea inundating scientific journals, reports, and bibliographic resources reeking of half-truth, untruth, and a smattering of relative truth, distinguished theorists and investigative reporters attempt to establish philosophy and science-reality believability by degrees.

Much is made of Zero Point Field (ZPF) influence toward energy creation and dissemination, but in no instance have physicists and related sciences ventured much beyond electro-energy's very frontier. Still, the debate rages on concerning qualities of photons, heat, dark energy, particles, waves, and light energy. Are they separate, or, are they all the same? In the submicroscopic world, measured in nanometers and nanoseconds, some experiments can not distinguish between wave or particle, depending on the approach. Add to this, intelligence theory advanced for 'The Field' and quantum science must somehow incorporate wave communications into quantum mechanics and relativity workability-and despite atom orbital momentum forces and stability instigations remaining as mysterious as always.

Lynne goes to great lengths in quoting various experimental sources working with the qualities of light, even to plant and animal light intake and emission to maintain equilibrium, even to body parts restitution: "A cancerous compound must cause cancer because it permanently blocks this light and scrambles it, so photo-repair can not work anymore. " She relates how cell function as well as mental perception occurs at a much more fundamental level of matter: 'in the netherworld of quantum particles, not seeing objects per se, but only their quantum information and out of that constructed our image of the world, a matter of tuning into the Zero Point Field. '

A full energy field curriculum illuminates under the author's pen, from telepathy to teleology. We can sum her effort as a visual theory of 'substructure underpinning the universe and essentially a recording medium of everything, providing means for everything to communicate with everything else.'

Though this book is grammatically slothful, the book will awaken minds to possibility, to investigate work fields not usually publicized, and to greatly expand awareness to the forces shaping human cognizance. Truly, we are an intelligence living in historical recall, in reality; here, we can travel ahead of the curve and ponder the imponderable.

Further works concerned with the road to advanced understanding, pondering the imponderable, in the field of metaphysics and wrestling with a language posited as imponderable in its secret mode, are available and promise to surprise at every turn. Our wish is to induce curiosity, introduce new ideas, and impugn those ideas and positions not consistent with syllogistic reasoning. A wondrous world of knowledge awaits the inquisitive.
